SNIPES RETIRES DUE TO ILLNESS … HIS SUCCESSOR NAMED
Rev. Felix E. Snipes has been diagnosed as having MS (Multiple Sclerosis). The primary ways it has affected him is through his walking ability and especially through his speaking ability. He KNOWS that he is in the center of God’s will for his life and in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Therefore in November of 2004, he officially retired from his pulpit ministry.
The ministry of the WONDER-FULL WEEKEND Evangelistic Crusades has been turned over to the tremendously talented and dedicated Christian Illusionist, Scott Humston.
Scott Humston is a man whose heart has been restored, whose talents have been honed, and who has dedicated himself to presenting top-quality family programs for the last 15 years. Scott believes in the power and glory of God. No Hype. Just help. For broken families. Children with hard hearts. He longs for Christ’s love to set those hearts free. This is done through music, magic, comedy, and lots of audience participation. Funny Stuff. Touching Stuff. Good Stuff. Great Stuff! We invite you to learn more about Scott Humston and how he can provide programming that will touch the hearts of those in your church, schools, and community.
Scott Humston has led an extraordinary life. Overcoming a speech related birth defect to become a full time speaker and performer, Scott now devotes his life to the art of motivating through entertainment. Scott holds a B.A. in communication studies and dramatic arts. He entertains, motivates, and inspires hundreds of audiences each year.
Scott has been performing in front of audiences for more than 20 years!--yet he is only 34. He started performing magic shows at the age of thirteen. "I've always had a desire to inspire people," says Scott. "I was born with a birth-defect known as a 'cleft-palate.' Chances are that you, too, know someone with this 'defect'. I have had six surgeries, years of speech classes, and lots of braces! I overcame this 'defect' in part because my parents, teachers, pastors, and others encouraged and inspired me and taught me that I could accomplish great things--if I would build upon the solid foundation of Christ. A favorite verse is Matthew 6:33--by seeking after His Kingdom, I find Him leading me and my family down a road of grace that is sufficient to accomplish mighty things."
Every week Scott performs in front of hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people. But Scott's show is more than just entertainment. It has a message revealed wit and warmth. The ability to reach people is a lifetime dream for Scott. "God has granted me the talent and devotion to spread the Good News to families in a fun and creative way," Scott says.
Here are a few of his past accomplishments:
• Best Young Magician in Florida, 1989
• American Legion Award, 1990
• Who's Who In America's Colleges, 1995
• Outstanding Young Men In America, 1996
He’s been invited to perform his program in hundreds of schools, churches, and corporations. He lives in Mount Dora, Florida with his wife of 12 years, Debi and daughters Hannah & Abby and a brand new baby boy!
